Bathing Bubbas

Bennett loves following Deacon everywhere and involving himself in whatever Deacon is doing! Most days Deacon barely tolerates his presence. But moments like this make me so excited about how close they will one day be.

Bennett: 7 months

Bennett: You already passed your 7th month!

At your checkup you measured 28.94 inches tall (90th percentile), 21 lbs. 13 oz. (86th percentile), and head circumference of 18.62 inches (98th percentile).

You wore 18 month - 2T clothes and were outgrowing your size 3 diapers.

Your firsts: Christmas, New Year's, professional photo session, standing alone while holding on to something, attending your big brother's birthday party, seeing "snow" (even if it was fake), and semi-crawling (more backwards movement than forwards)

You quickly moved from number two baby food to number three.  You are totally interested in food now and will grab at our meals trying to get some for yourself.

You also figured out how your hands work!  You will reach for toys or any tiny object you can get your hands on and have perfected the art of bringing them to your mouth.

Your hair really started growing too!  It won't be long until you will need your first hair cut.

Bennett: 6 Months

Six months flew by and you are into the 2nd half of your first year!

Last month you were wearing 12-24 month clothes and size 3 diapers.

Firsts: Thanksgiving and sitting by yourself

You really got the hang of tummy time and started to figure out how to get your knees underneath you.

You love you to be held while you practice standing up; it won't be long before you will be able to do that too!

You really became a ham and will shine that big gummy grin when anyone looks your way!

You figured out how yummy baby food is and started eating any number one meals we threw your way, and even sampled some number twos.

You remind us so much of your brothers.  You love attention, being held, and still aren't quite sleeping through the night, just like Carson.  We see Deacon in you when you snuggle up with your blanket before falling asleep, along with your sweet, easy-going disposition.

As much as we see your brothers in you, you are also your own little guy.  Unlike them as babies, you have such an appetite and will eat any baby food without hesitation and keep grabbing for more.  By now both your brothers already had at least a tooth in, but you are trying to stay our baby a little longer.  You get such joy out of others happiness; hearing others giggle or seeing them smile is enough for you to light up.

You bring such a positive energy to our family, we are so blessed to have you!

Professional Photos of the Scott Brothers

We just got the disk with our family photos, and even though Deacon wasn't super thrilled (we made the mistake of having pictures taken near a pond; he wanted to get in that water and nothing to do with posing), our photographer captured some gorgeous shots.

Family Photo Video

We recently had family photos taken by our very favorite photographer, Carey Anne, who also took the boys photos in the summer of 2011.  She made this amazing video from our session (turn on your speakers, it's so much better with the music):

I love that it feels like a home movie and our input made it so much more personal and special!

Bennett: 5 Months

Bennett, 5 months have came and went!!

Last month you weighed 19.5 lbs, wore 9-18 month clothing and size 3 diapers.

You really got the hang of rolling over last month.  If we laid you on your back you wouldn't stay that way long before flopping over to your tummy.

You began playing with toys too! You think Elmo is hilarious and will laugh your head off when he sings to you.  The bouncer and exersaucer have also been used a bunch.

You finally moved out of your carseat at bedtime and will now sleep in your bassinet.  We are still waiting for you to sleep all night every night before moving you into your nursery, but are happy to share the room with our last baby a little longer.

You began to eat a little more baby food last month.  Your favorite is cereal, but you like peas a lot too.  If we try to give you anything thicker than that you gag and scare us!

You started to realize when we leave you alone for even a moment. You would much rather have someone holding or sitting next to you and have no problem expressing your dissatisfaction when that doesn't happen immediately.

Those little baby teeth of yours aren't making life easy either!  It seems like you have been teething for close to three months now, but no teeth have popped up yet.

You are the perfect age for all of the holidays happening this time of year!  You looked adorable in your costume for your 1st Halloween and are going to love all the lights, music, and presents at Christmas!  And we are going to LOVE having three boys to celebrate with!

Bennett: 4 Months

Bennett: you are about to end your 4th month!

You weigh about 18.5 lbs. and are close to 26 inches long.

You wear size 9-18 month clothes and size 3 diapers.

This month you rolled over from front to back for the first time!

You have made yourself right at home in our family and love getting attention and smiles from anyone willing to share them.  You think Carson is the funniest kid ever and he can make you grin instantaneously.

You smile almost all the time, except when the camera is flashing in your face...I have made it my goal to capture that gummy grin on film!

Drooling is your new thing to do, requiring us to change your bib often so that your little neck doesn't stay soaked.  We can feels some knots in your gums along with you chewing on anything you can get your hands on, so teeth should be arriving soon!

You love being held, or at the least, being sat up so you can see everything that is going on. You like tummy time for short periods of time too.  Standing is definitely your favorite!  You like to grab onto our fingers to balance while you stand.
You love your bottle, but aren't a huge fan of eating yet.  You will tolerate cereal, but make faces if we give you any other baby food to try.

You love your bouncer too!  You laugh and smile as you jump and sometimes Deacon will come over and help bounce you.  Because your hand coordination has gotten better you like to play with the toys on your bouncer too.
You are still sleeping in our room and wake up a couple of times at night for your bottle or pacifier.  You would prefer to snuggle up in bed with us while you sleep, but only get to at nap time.

Your noise have increased to, so you are jabbering all the time and have learned to make a variety of sounds.  We can't wait until you start talking and can tell us what's on your mind! :)

Bennett: 16 Weeks

This week you had a couple of firsts: trying baby food (sweet potatoes) and hanging out in your exersaucer. You are starting to become interested in toys, so you love watching and listening to your everything spin and make noise. Deacon is more than happy to show you how they all work, since he started playing with them before you arrived.

Bennett:3 Months

Bennett, you are well into your third month!

You weigh about 14 lbs. and are 25.5 inches long.

You can wear anywhere from 6 month-18 month clothing and size 3 diapers.

You are such a smiley little guy, but we are having trouble capturing it in pictures because you are still a little surprised by the flash. Along with the smiles have come some giggles too!

Giggling isn't your only noise, you also have "conversations" with us by making the "ah" and "o" sound. You will sometimes imitate your brothers too when they whine.

You have a great appetite and will usually drink 6-8 ounces during a feeding. I think you would like to try baby food too, but with your spit-up problems I'm not sure your little tummy is ready yet.

You still sleep quite a bit throughout the day and usually only wake up once at night. You are still in your carseat at bedtime, but with your nursery now complete you should be moving into your crib soon.

I am back to work now, so you get to spend your weekdays with our fabulous neighbor, who is also your babysitter. I was able to stay home with you longer than your brothers, so we were really able to bond this summer.

Your coordination has improved so much! You can get your hand to your mouth now and like to cram your whole fist in. (I may need take a picture!) You haven't learned to roll over yet, but are very close. Your neck is strong too and you can hold you head up while being carried with no problem. We can also pull you by your hands into a sitting position.

You are starting to be our social baby! You watch us as we walk across the room, love when your brothers give you attention, and enjoy sitting up so you can see what is going on.

It's hard to believe you are already a quarter of the way through your first year! You will be running around, wrestling with your brothers before we know it.

Bennett's Nursery

Now that Deacon has moved out of the nursery, Bennett can move in!
All the furniture stayed the same (all three boys have used it), only the bedding really changed.
My friend, Ashley, bought Bennett these adorable letters to match.
All the nursery needs is a baby sleeping in it, which will be coming soon!
