11 Weeks

Mrs. Marilyn (Carson's old babysitter) had an opening and we were able to move you over there instead of daycare and we couldn't be happier! She was amazed at how much you look like your big brother & how smart you already are! We agree. :)

Best Buds

We had a fun, busy weekend and lots of it was spent with our neighbors!

Carson and James are only a few days apart in age, so we were blessed with an instant playmate for Carson when we moved into our house three years ago.

They both played together in this weekends soccer game:


Caroline is James older sister, she is SO patient with these two wild monkeys! (Carson adores her too)

All the kids enjoyed their "daiquiris" after a round of bowling:


I think the boys downed theirs in about 2 minutes.

Carson has been begging us to play in the sprinkler for the past few months and today it was finally warm enough outside to put on his bathing suit! Melissa (James's mommy) was nice enough to let James come over and join the fun...

...and let me to stay [mostly] dry to take pictures.

I can't wait until Summer to see how much trouble these two can get into! ;)

10 Weeks

This week you went to your 2 month check-up and had to get your first round of vaccines. Your dad and brother took you, so I was saved from the embarrassment of crying along with you at the doctor's office. Yay!

We also got an update on your stats:

Weight: 13 lbs. 2.5 oz. - 80th Percentile

Length: 24 inches - 80th Percentile

Head: 16 inches - 50th Percentile

You also had another milestone this week: rolling over front to back! It won't be long before you are rolling all over the house!

9 Weeks

We had a MAJOR milestone this week: You slept through the night!!! And not just one night, but TWO nights in a row!! We are SO appreciative. :)

I think you are going to be a Daddy's Boy because he can get you smiling and jabbering better than anyone. And of course he is eating it up! So, when it is picture time Dada always gets called in the room and assigned the job to make you smile. (I obviously took this picture. lol)

Soccer!!!

Now that Carson is 4 we figured he was old enough to play sports. (We attempted t-ball at the YMCA last year without much success) Last week was his first practice (Thursday) and game (Saturday). I must say it was a win-win situation: Carson had a blast and the parents were HIGHLY entertained!

We were fortunate to have our neighbor James sign up too and he was even placed on the same team! These two together are a hoot!

Carson's favorite position is goalie, and he did great at blocking all three balls that were kicked at him.

He and James were wore out from all that hard work! lol

At the end of practice the team had to decide a name. The coach (who is fabulous, I might add) let the kiddos pick. One kick said the "Purple Team" (their uniforms are red!), another kid said the "Orange Team." lol He had the kids name animals instead. Carson said "how about the 'Horses'?" Coach Mitchell, liked it and said "why don't we call ourselves the STALLIONS!!" Everyone loved it.

Next, all the kids lined up by height so that the uniforms could be passed out. Our poor son has our short genes and was officially the smallest on the team...

...he was still excited to get his uniform and his number. He is #2!

Our game was Saturday and we met before to decorate our cars for the "car parade." The parade consisted of us driving to the field together and honking our horns the whole way there. Carson was excited nonetheless.

We arrived with plenty of time to warm up and for the rain to arrive...

Luckily, it wasn't raining bad enough for the game to be canceled, so we all just got a little damp.

We were too busy videotaping, so we didn't get a lot of pictures during the game, but it was hilarious! Kids were running in the wrong direction and some were just standing around like there wasn't a game going on or anything.

Carson was focused. I told him before the game that where ever the ball went, he should stay right by it. That ball never left his sight. Even during one of the time outs, Carson didn't know what they were doing, only that there was an open ball. He got ahold of that ball and went straight to score a goal. lol

The whole game Carson kept saying he wanted to be goalie and at the end he finally got his chance! At practice he learned the "goalie stance," and stayed in that position the whole time he was in front of that goal.

Only one ball was shot at him and he missed it. He was so tore up over missing that goal he almost started crying. That is when I mentioned that he would receive a trophy at the end of the season. He perked right back up!

I don't think we were supposed to keep score, but my hyper-competitive dad did...we won 5-4!

Month by Month

2 Months

Deacon - You are 2 months old!!

You weigh about 13.5 pounds and are about 23 inches long.

You wear size 2 diapers and 3-6 month clothes.

• You celebrated your first holidays this month: St. Patrick's Day & Easter.
  
  
• Speaking of "firsts" you smiled for the first time and also started cooing recently.

• We are still so excited by how well you sleep! You are waking up about once at night, and it is almost always at 4:30am on the dot.
  
  
• You sleep in our room usually in your carseat or bassinet. Sometimes your Dada sneaks you in bed with us and I will roll over and find your cute little face snuggled up next to me.
  

• You really love taking a bath! Bath time and first thing in the morning is when we typically get the most smiles out of you.
  
  
• You also love looking around and putting your whole hand in your mouth when the pacifier isn't in there.

• You are eating less this month than you did last month, usually around 4 ounces, at the most 6, at each feeding.
  
  
• Your little face is filling out making you look less like a newborn and more like a baby!

• You are so alert now and can follow us across the room with your eyes, or look for us when we walk out of your sight.
  
  
  
• Your neck is getting so strong too, and you like laying on your stomach or being held so that you can practice lifting it up.
  

• Our family is getting into a routine now and life with you is starting to feel "normal." We can't imagine our lives without you in it!
  

Easter

The night before Easter my nephews stayed over and we started off the holiday by dyeing Easter eggs. As you can see, females are definitely in the minority in our family now...

The boys stayed up late playing wii, but eventually fell asleep so that the Easter Bunny could stop by. Carson got the "Cars" basket filled with Gormiti & Deacon received the chicken basket with some pacifiers, hats and a teether. Ethan had money in his basket and Austin's had Gormiti's too.

Deacon & Brian got dressed before we woke up the boys. I thought Carson & Brian looked so much alike, but I think Brian & Deacon look like twins!! They are so cute in their matching yellow outfits!

Carson was the first to hop out of bed to check out his Easter basket. He was thrilled to find new Gormiti's (yes, he is still obsessed!).

Then the boys hunted eggs. It was raining outside, so the Easter Bunny had to hide them in our house.

The rest of us got dressed for church and we had time to take our first family photos. (It is hard to pose two little boys!)

Our church service was awesome!! There were so many people there that they set up chairs in the lobby and we watched the service on the tv. Carson came out of his class and was excited to tell us "Jesus died on the cross for us!"

They looked so cute while we sat in the lobby, I just had to snap a picture of them. Deacon already loves Carson so much; look at him staring at his big brother!

Carson was so sweet and wanted to take a picture of his little brother. I think we may have a future photographer on our hands.

After church we went to Brian's parents for lunch and an egg hunt. Kollette is such a great cook, so we all filled up on yummy ham and sides before going outside (the weather ended up turing out gorgeous) to start the hunt.

After the kids finished hunting, they decided to hide eggs for the adults. Since I was hunting, I didn't get a chance to take pictures, but let's just say the adults didn't play fair & nice like our well-behaved children.
